A few questions.

- What do you use the PC for?
- What monitor are you using\res?
- How old is the PSU?
do a bit of gaming world of warcraft etc the psu is about 8 years old CX550M , monitors Acer gaming monitors 1920x1080 1ms

edit: actually just was checking box the psu is a Cooler master Silent ProM 600w about 7 years old forgot the cx550m died

honestly, i'd say don't bother with reusing parts and just get a whole new rig
if you want to reuse your current lian-li case, stick your current system in a new case (i've added it as part of the build spec) and sell it on. should recoup you a couple of hundred quid.
the only other change i would make is to swap the gpu from the rx7600 to the rx6700xt if you can find it for reasonable prices (ofc not at ocuk)

PSU might want replacing after 7yrs, if you went with no GPU upgrade just yet you could easily fit an AM5 build into less than your budget. And save a little more for the GPU?

Or go AM4 but understand you'll not have much upgrade headroom with that platform. Then again you don't seem to upgrade that often :)

AM5/DDR5 option if you re-use the case, PSU and storage:

CPU cooler is included in the CPU box, or you could get the black Arctic Freezer 36 for £25.

I believe WoW does like the X3D CPUs a lot, but I'd prefer to be on AM5 than go AM4 and buy a 5700X3D.

The 4060 is not usually a card I'd recommend, but it has low power consumption (~120 watts) so should pose no problem for your old 550 watt PSU and it uses an 8-pin so need for adapters. TPU's database says it is 113% faster than your RX 580, so not too shabby!

whats the standard cooler like that is comes with the cpu ? worth upgrading or be ok for just casual stuff ?

The 7600 non-X? Sufficient for basic desktop use and gaming, but it is not great (it is AMD's worst box cooler).

A peerless assassin/phantom spirit for £35 smashes it out of the park. The £25 black Freezer 36 @ OCUK is also a lot better.

you don't need a peerless assassin for a 7600
even a £15 assassin king ak120se is sufficient

if you search you can get 6000C30 ram for £97 elsewhere at mo. it's a step up from 5600c40 and worth the extra £8....if going am5 route
also if stepping up to b650 mobo the gigabyte gaming X ax is £150 at mo here, or for £140 the gigabyte b650 eagle ax for £140 which is capable, but not on offer whereas the gaming x is...and is a better board

decided to go AM5 set up how this look before i order ?
