Hi there, I'm building a PC for next door neighbours kid.
It's a gaming rig, just need the tower, no OS.
I'll consider the FX8320/FX6300 options if they represent a better GPU.

Just need to get some ideas bouncing.

Cheers.

Look forward to seeing what you go for as I know you know your stuff ;)

Just over budget using the free P&P. Ivy i5K as the Z77 mobos are cheaper. This 7950 is part of the mega games bundle too, the 7870LEs are worth a mention I suppose. A decent value heatsink and extra case fan would make a good crimbo gift from a relative maybe?

Best of luck with it all fella, I look forward to seeing more suggestions :)

I've since bought a GTX670 for 167.50 (The KFA2 one)
Wish it was the MSI one, but oh well, the KFA2 will hopefully clock further.

And a 4670K.
That's 340 quid of the budget spent.

I'm looking at these parts to complete it, when I get the money ;

SSD ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-161-SA
HDD ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-255-SE
Motherboard ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-242-MS
RAM ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-PA
PSU ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-055-OC
Case ; http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-002-XG

What am I missing? That's under 700 quid and that spec is absolutely insane

I could even get a H100i, am I missing something obvious?

If the budget can stretch a bit, I;d go with something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £99.95
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £86.99
1 x Patriot Viper "Black Mamba" Generation 3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (PV38G160C9K) £53.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD10EZEX - OEM ** Single Platter ** HDD £51.95
1 x OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
1 x Xigmatek Asgard Pro Gaming Case - Black £32.99
Total : £375.85 (includes shipping : FREE).

Faster SSD, decent Z87 mobo (If you have a K chip it seems pointless having a B85), USB 3.0 case.

Is 2TB really needed?

He wouldn't have any cooler with that, but I guess he could get that later down the line.
The budget is 700 maximum to be honest.

Hopefully they'll be some budget Z87 board or RAM might drop again.
The reason for the K chip is that it was cheaper than the none K :p

Haswell i5's start at 150, the 4670K was only 173, the 4670 was 176 :p
