Hi all,

I bought a new Seagate SATA-II 7200.10 320Gb HDD from OCUk around two weeks ago. I installed Windows onto it fine, and then after a few days I got a "Disk Boot Error" message. I burnt the Seatools ISO to disc and ran than, and I got a "Floating Point Error: Overflow" message when running it. My IDE drives both pass, but the SATA drive didn't. I thought it might have been my Mobo, but I stuck it into an enclosure + formatted it. It seemed to be working fine, and I was able to copy some files to it, but soon after it gave me transfer error messages, and I got a load of "An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\D during a paging operation" messages in Device Manager.

Broken?

Your drive actually broke Seatools? (lol)

Well, I'd suggest trying one of the other manufacturers test tools then. They usually work reasonably even on drives not of their own making. (I recently posted another post suggesting the same to another guy. )
