hey all,

i currently have a 3500+ 939 2gig ddr and a 8800GTS i upgraded from a x800xl and my playback is still okay but it skips now and again as if its struggling on 720p and 1080p content. Im going to be turning this pc into a HTPC so i was wondering would i notice upgrading the CPU to a better chip.

Also what would you recommend dont really want to spend that much so im thinking of upgrading the CPU. a 4400+ or FX-60 what would be the best solution. Looking for minimal cost upgrade :D

what would be the best cost wise for my needs, im going to have 720p and 1080p video as the most intensive thing, no games etc just video playback as its goign to be a HTPC
 
Opy's 170 seem to be around 70£ new, rekon thats the best way? what does a 3500+ retail go for never overclocked, packaged in origional packaging, £££?
