720p and full 1080p

So on my 37" TV (Panny th37px70) which I watch from 6+ ft away, if I was to watch say a Blu Ray movie, would I be suffering because it's 720p and not full 1080p?

Depends on your eyesight I have the same panel and it's great, I find it's better sending a 1080p signal and letting the TV downscale.

Do you notice much difference say between DVD and HD?

720p is defined as 720 lines.... he has 720 lines!!!!!

Yes, but from my understanding its 1280 across. Where as my plasma is 1024, so some processing has to go on to lose some columns...
