Hey all,

just wondering if anyone has tryed 720p playback on either of the MacBook's does the quality look nice as im thinking of getting a macbook and would liek to watch 720p movies whilst travelling :D

Cheers

I'd say they play great on the MBP, but it would probably depend on the amount of RAM in the MB (as it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card).. I could be wrong though.

I know 1080P works flawlessly on my MBP though :D

720p plays fine on Macbook, I've never tried 1080p. 13" screen won't do justice to 720p but it will still look better than DVD.

MacBooks have 1280 x 800 screens dont they? thats just above the 720p resolution so it should look ince specially on a small 13" screen

They'll look better on the 13" screen as the resolution is almost spot on for it (1280 x 720 on a 1280 x 800 screen).

MacBooks with 2GB RAM can definitely handle 1080p, although i've had a few things running in the background a couple of times and noticed an occasion slowdown in the video.

But for 720p it works beautifully :D
