ok, so "pretend" i have no idea about any of the technical jargon above lol

if i set the res on my 360 to 1280 x 720 does this mean i am running in 720p ??

scroll up, DaveyD already confirmed that 720p -> 1280x720

can some one tell me if I buy a vga cable will it let me display 1280 768 as that is the res of my hd tv.

I'm using a sammy LE26R73BD and after testing (MS component cable) 1080i looks so much better to me. The images, Dashboard, and ingame look a lot sharper.
