£750 gaming PC

Rigged might be a strong term, more like they use whatever they can get their hands on and now use the cheapest.

So i either swap to another model like the one you offered or i can drop it altogether and stick with a standard HDD.

Are Hybrids worth it over all, i know it will never beat an SSD but it can be faster than a standard HDD but not by much really, just keeping some options open.

Thanks

Not convinced by hybrids, tried one, felt the same as a regular HDD, my thinking is save money and get a regular HDD or get a true SSD.

Its fine apart from there are cheaper DVD writers in stock.

Pity to add a black drive to that case at all? can you not install from a USB stick or external drive?

Never thought of the colour and the black writer.

I could get the black case i suppose. I more or less want a decent sized case with enough room for upgrades but also for cooling fans and decent airflow so keep everything cool.

TBH i'm not looking to build it, i think i may ask OCUK to put it together since they do have that service.

my 2p:
better case imo, with more fans, has an inbuilt fan controller and temp sensor as well
cheaper optical drive
250gb ssd (rather than a 128gb ssd - 128gb is so 2013)
better heatsink
win 8 rather than win 7 - cheaper and newer
all for £20 more

That is a nice case and with it being black won't mess up any colour scheme either. But i went for the Z9 Plus since it comes with a window and 2 more fan spaces.

Cheaper optical drive, nice.

Windows 8 i dunno about that, i am a fan of windows 7 but 8.1 gave the start button back at least but i do see your point.

Heatsink nice.

That HDD has terrible reviews and with an SSD i am not sure if i would get one, on the fence atm giving it some thought because while it is good for the OS i may not stick any games on it so it may go to waste.

New list.

no. don't get the z9 plus. that's the older model without the usb 3 front headers, also the side panel on the z9 plus is fugly compared to the z9u3

also, why a 128gb ssd rather than a 250gb ssd?
128gb is barely the minimum these days, and to see the best results for ssd, you'd want to put the operating system and programmes on the ssd, rather than just the os on the ssd

how much drive space do you need, if anything, i'd say ditch the hdd and get a larger ssd.
once you go ssd, you'll wonder how you've coped with a mechanical drive for so long ;p it really is that amazing

If anything i'm using around 500GB atm, not really a lot.

Possibly could drop the standard HDD and go to SSD really and just use my current HDD in this PC and put it in the next one.

The Zalman Z9 is old hat these days, I'm sure I can find something else thats better.

it's old, but bang-for-buck wise, it's still right up there with the best of them.
which other case, for £45, gives 3 fans, fan controller, windowed side panel, blue lighted interior (and a temp sensor - gimmicky i know)

granted the z9 can't take a 240mm aio rad up on top, but not everyone uses that

Its old and I have already given two better and newer case designs above:)
