£750 gaming PC

Many of the popular cards on the market that have sold in big numbers (Powercolor PCS, 290 Vapor-X and the Tri-X, the GTX970 windforce and Gaming G1) are all over 290mm.

You can get external USB dvd drives and plug it when you use it.

It is an option.

the door can open, but it can't be removed

Not a fan of the door.

Point taken.

While it would be nice to have a good looking case overall it has to be function over looks, i can get LED case fans and most likely whack them on it.

If anything decent amount of fans for cooling and enough space to upgrade stuff.

Many of the popular cards on the markets that have sold in big numbers (Asus, MSI, EVGA, Galax/KFA2 non-HOF editions) are all less than 290mm...

...but you knew that already

Why limit yourself to a 290mm max case:p

The point I made is that you cant rely on GFX cards being under 290mm, many of the popular ones are over this.

i agree, however, there are cards under 290mm, and at the price range OP is aiming at for the pc case, there has to be trade offs
and IMO, the 290mm gpu limit is a good trade off compared to what he'd gain by getting the z9
and i've also pointed out equally popular cards that are sub-290mm

of course you have your list of trade offs and you feel that the 290mm limit is something you shouldn't compromise on, hence you listed the cases you feel are superior

at the end of the day, it's OP's decision on what trade offs he feels happy with ;p

There doesnt have to be tradeoffs, I have already listed two case at the same price that do not compromise on GFX support like Z9 does.

There could be that one GFX card released in the future that has that great price compared to others in the range. The PCS cooler, Gigabyte Windforce X3, even the XFX DD was over 290mm and sold in massive numbers.

So the OP sees this card, great price, looks nice but oh wait its 2mm or greater too long to fit in his case.

get the dremel out ;p

does OP not want a window too?

Optional, not too fussed, can take it or leave it.

No way

I am not touching water with electronics, never.

Function over looks with the case, gimmie fans and space and it works really.

fair enough ;p

just change the cooler to the thermis

the case doesn't have the 290mm gpu limit of the z9
everything else is basically the same
the 230t has no manual fan controller, but you can control the fans via the motherboard settings
