Looking to volt mod m 7600GT, it's a emtek 7600GT with a zalman cooler fitted.
I was looking a this website
for a tutorial, so looked carefully removed my 7600GT from my system but where is this resistor? And what does 10k mean is there a particular place for it to be found?

Would really aprectaite some help on this guys :)

10K refers to the value of the resistance you need to solder between that 2 points. It's on the rear of the card, towards the end of the PCB as far as I can tell.

Not being rude, but if you don't know what a multimeter is and that the 10k referred to a resistor value then obviously your electronics and maybe soldering knowledge is minimal, maybe you should'nt attempt it until you've learned how to properly and some basic electronics.

Yeah definately dont solder anything you havent soldered before, like expensive graphics cards.Leard about the varios tools you might need, then have a wee go with a magnifying glass the correct solder tip and a really old duff card/board or something.then decide if you want to volt your card.

K thanks for the help, I'm gonna leave this voltmod! I download coolbits registry hack and have pushed the 7600GT to 650MHz/800MHz at this speed the volt mod just sounds unessecarry!! So thanks for the help guys, but i am a noob at volt modding. :(

If it only it was easy as it was modding the X800 Pro to XT BIOS FLASH ;)

Just make sure you use a multimeter to measure the resultant voltage when you're doing it otherwise you'll likely kill your card.

i agree

i managed to smuggle a single smt 0603 ( 06 = 1.5mm, 03 = 0.75mm the 06 = 6 * 0.25mm ie, 6 thou of an inch equal to 1.5mm) resistor from work and fit it accros voltage set resistor on my 6600gt (to volt mod) fixed it using an eye glass and conductive paint, stuff you get in motor factors to fix heated rear wind screens.... worked a treat. need a steady hand, a good eye and a cocktailstick applicator... did not check voltage, I trusted web site that they had the reistor value covered... but i would suggest a DVM to do the job, that way you can check resistand before even powering the card.

Radiospares (R/S) and Farnell sell SMT (surface MounT) resistors, you can even order samples. if your cheeky enough... maybe OCUK should sell modding kits for volt mod, a selection of components and tools....
