Looking at getting a new mother board. Atmo thinking of using my CPU and ram etc for time being unless someones got a better idea? E6700 2.6ghz.DDR2.
got a few in mind!. I'm mostly using for gaming.Got about £100/150ish budget?

Asus P5Q-E.or Deluxe version. ROG/formula II type ones.
So what other is recommended?

What motherboard are you using now? Personnally i would'nt upgrade a 775 system as future upgrades are very limited.

For £150 you could get new mobo and cpu for AM3 system, reuse RAM, something like this

AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition 2.80GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail £93.99 (£81.73)
Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 AMD 770 (Socket AM3/AM2+) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £60.98 (£53.03)
Total : £154.97

Hi thanks for getting back.
I'm using an evga Nforce 680i. and dual core E6700. 4x1 gig of patriot LLK@800 or 4x1gig of crucial ballistix @1066.it's an alienware thing.so water cooled aswell.

Been having afew probs after the G'card went.overheated?8800gtx. Put one of those 9800gt esave things init! But going to look at an ati 5870 soonish.

And my reasoning is that i'd replace mobo as i think it's something onit thats causing probs with various things after or it caused Graphic card to go plus sound card??
I'd use my cpu and ram in the mean time then later when cash is abit more free??? change to may'be i5/7 or whatever and ddr3 plus windows 7.etc.

By then usb 3 will be out and prices of cpu's and ram should well in theorie should come down abit?
I'd get best part of a year or more even like that.could even pick up a better cpu if one comes up worth the monie.

I'm only realy using for gaming and 680's older pci slots not 2.0 type.

So do you think thats quite a sound plan?
anyway thanks for the replies.
