My card out the box boots into windows (albeit at a resolution of 700x800).

Now the problem is when I've tried installing the drivers off of the disk given / installing the latest drivers off of the website, when it asks me to restart after the update it doesn't load back into windows. When I turn the PC on it shows the usual start up stuff and does the windows loading flag bit at the start but then the screen goes black and it says "no signal input".

I've tried uninstalling it all and retrying but Im having no luck and I have no idea why it isnt working or how to solve this problem....

What card did you have before? Did you uninstall drivers with old card installed before installing new card?

if not, try that

I was using intel onboard graphics, I'll try uninstalling the drivers for that then.

yes i would try and uninstall your old drivers, driver cleaner is a good prog for that, i would also try to install a newer driver if the one on the disc still gives you no joy, as my driver off the disc would not let me use my optimal resolution, so i upgraded to 320.18 and all has been fine since.

Oh that's odd then.

You have plugged the Monitor into the 780 i presume?

Go into Bios and disable Onboard GPU, then try and install driver for 780 again.

Make sure its all plugged in correctly with correct power cables, Make sure Onboard GPU is disabled and get back to us :)

DONT USE LATEST DRIVER FROM NVIDIA ITS BAD.

Use the one found on the Disk that came with the Card.

Don't advise people to use a driver that can damage the card please nalla.

Ok so I uninstalled the intel graphics drivers like you said and running the 320.11 drivers and it worked! Im now on my pc as I should be however no sound is coming from my monitor (Im using HDMI so it should be and was before) any ideas whats happening?

It won't let me select my monitor. I didn't have this problem when I was using on board graphics :/

Hmmm that is strange that it isn't detecting the HDMI is connected. It would seem that the drivers for audio over HDMI may not be correctly installed. I seem to recall mines (albeit AMD) acting similar at some point with early 7970 drivers.

Perhaps go onto Nvidia forums and see if anyone is having problems getting audio over HDMI?

I am running the early Nvidia drivers but I don't know whether to update them as there's all this fuss about the new drivers damaging the GPU :S

Definitely worth posting on Nvidia forum and asking if anyone has experienced non detection of audio over HDMI. Post that screenshot as well to show that it is not detecting HDMI plugged in despite you connecting to monitor via HDMI.

Best of luck, monster of a card you have once you get early teething problems sorted out.
