Just received my 780 ti Ghz edition today. Replaced my 470, installed latest Geforce drivers and loaded up Arma 3. There seems to be no difference! I had everything on low before, and about 20-30fps. Same here. I put everything on high and had about 10-15 fps .

It's as if I never replaced the card! Strange..

Need more details really. Full specs (with psu).

And did u clean drivers properly. Going between amd and nvidia it is important to clean any old remains

So I ran a benchmark to see if it was working okay - seems reasonable? I came from a 470 - so an Nvidia card.
PSU is a Corsair TX 650 W.

those heaven scores are about right compated to me. Arma 3 really "that" cpu intensive?

The ultra/tesselation score is ok as well considering your cpu. The mins are a bit low tho, but it could just be a hiccup i guess.

Changing settings doesn't really seem to make much of a difference. Stuck at 25-30 or so fps out of town with everything cranked on ultra, 8x AA etc. I guess as you say, CPU limited!

The hiccups happened from when it changed scenes I think.

I do have a 4ghz CPU overclock setting in my BIOS I set up ages ago. It BSODs now however. I guess with the new GPU, need something power stable, so probably a little less.

Haha. No. I'll probably upgrade the CPU over the next few months.

I've checked GPU usage, it reaches 99%.

What's the reason for making the CPU deal with the graphics in Arma?

Something isn't right,

Your cpu will hold you back but not to the extent that your seeing.

I regularly get 80-100+ fps with everything maxxed @1080p, try disabling ssao, disabling this alone should net you around 15-20fps more.

This is entirely down to ArmA3 settings.

Most notable, object draw distance, view distance, shadow distance.

You CANT max these out and expect anything remotely playable.

Its also pointless when on foot as relief will kill all that draw distance so you're sat computing things you cant see.

Big viewdistance is for pilots, where the height and speed give objects low LODs and run smoother.

On the ground, 3k view-distance is the most you should need. with say 1500-2000 object draw distance.

If you're sat with 20k view distance ad 10k draw distance in a map that actually has things to draw at that distance you're going to kill any PC.

ArmA is a sim game, you can't just slider everything to maximum and expect it to work.

You really need to overclock that CPU......;)

I did, some time ago. Had some issues with something else a few months ago (hard drive in the end) and didn't switch it back.

I switched it back today to 4GHZ but it BSOD past the Windows logo. Probably not stable anymore with a different graphics card, so I'll have to look into reducing it.

Changing draw distance doesn't really change the FPS.

Should add, I checked GPU usage again. Seems to be about 40% when I am standing still in Arma, looking at a city from the docks (lots in view).
