I have a GTX780 with a 1440p, runs fine with some setting's turned down. If eye candy is something you want then another card will help that but for me I'd rather save the money for what's round the corner...

I was about to create a post but I have a very similar issue. I have a 780 GHz edition and I've just found a 'like new' one for £230. I want to buy a 3440x1440 curved superwidescreen monitor like this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-211-SA&groupid=17&catid=2908

However, I'm torn between waiting to see what comes out next and maximising the investment in my current system by picking up another 780 GHz while they are cheap. I'm worried if I leave it too long they will just go off the radar completely and I'll never see another cheap new one again as they don't seem to be producing them any more.

Doing a bit of working out in my head, if I sold my 780 for say £150 and knocked that off the price of a new next gen GPU so say £450-£150=£300 for a single next gen card.
Vs paying £230 now for another GTX 780 GHz which apparently scales quite well to give me a double OC 780 in SLI.
Apart from the 3gb of VRAM limitation, I very much doubt a single next gen card is going to beat a double 780 GHz. *edges credit card out of wallet*
