A quick look at the net today reveals a massive drop in 780 ti prices, does this herald a new desktop high end card is about to be released?

I cant find these massive price drops. But not looked at to many places as at work on my phone.

The 790 is still rumoured for release soon which will obviously be a high end gaming card which may have an impact on 780ti prices but is going to be more expensive.

More people are not willing to pay up for expensive Nvidia cards, especially after the 780 and titan fiasco. Prices will drop when cards are not shifting off shelves.

Keep in mind that Nvidia’s high-end Maxwell cards, which will likely occupy the 800-series, are coming in a few weeks and will likely be Nvidia’s answer to the R9 290X as far as mining goes.

From this article: http://vr-zone.com/articles/maxwell-will-bring-nvidia-back-cryptomining-game/73556.html

Maybe we will see some interim 28nm high end Maxwell GPU's?

GDC is coming up in a couple of weeks..

Ooooooo exciting! Maybe 28nm Maxwell cards with 290x competing performance then the big Daddy on 20/16nm

We already have Kepler 28nm GTX 780/780Ti competing with 290X in terms of gaming, if we see interim Maxwell cards on 28nm I imagine Crypto Mining performance will be up to par with 290X, and power consumption way down. Gaming performance should be way ahead of 290X/GTX 780Ti.

20nm is pegged for Q4 atm, but who knows maybe it could come earlier...
