hi all, was wondering would it be advisable to pay the extra 25ish quid for a xfx 440/1300 7800gs or save the cash and get the leadtek 7800gs 375/1200?
would the leadtek card clock as high as the xfx card or would it be advisable to just go for the overclocked xfx card in the first place?

Get the standard XFX card. They're better then leadtech's I reckon. Plus they overclock a lot better. Factory Overclocked card's don't really tend to overclock as high as standard.

Plus you save money so it's all good.

hmm, not ready to go full on pci-e yet especially since vista is popping out next year and that crysis video that i saw means that i WILL be building a new rig just for that one game :D

xfx card is pre clocked at 440 core. would it clock any higher than this? the leadtek is the cheapest card to get but has a clock speed to 375 core. wondering if it will clock as well as the xfx card but not sure.

With graphics card overclocking, it all falls down to luck? Get a pre-clocked card and you will have a guaranteed overclock which will outperform the stock version.

I believe the highly pre-clocked graphics card won't clock much higher than what it already is... whilst the stock versions will provide more overclocking potential... by potential, I mean you have a good chance of hitting a factory pre-clocked card.

... uh oh... hope that makes sense...

e.g. the 375MHz core might be able to hit the 440MHz, whilst the 440MHz core may well push to 450MHz - 460MHz... but it's not all guaranteed. Either way, in my view, you'll be getting the same card. Depends which card looks more appealing and the bundle provided.
