Hi All.

Ive just bought a msi intel x299 gaming m7 ack and a 7800x.
Wondering what ballpark OC settings Im looking at for vcore.
Lets say a reasonable OC for 4.5ghz, start at vcore 1.2v?
Ive gor 64gb 3000mhz Corsair vengeance LED ram which I`ll run at XMP and auto settings for vccio.
Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks

1.2v 4500 is actually a good place to start. Without delid 1.2 is about the maximum volts you can use 24-7. Good CPU can do 4.8-4.9 1.25v but your limited without the delid. Try also pushing cache for maximum IPC.

The guy above is an AMD boy I don't understand comments like that 7800X is the best 6 Core CPU around. People have the money they can buy what they want all the different CPU';s available mow have different plus and minus points.

Im all stable at 1.23v/4.5ghz with the system agent voltage/IMC at 1.15v (up form 0.9v@xmp settings). The H115i is doing a helluva job with 73 degress max temps in real world gaming with fans set at 1050 rpm max for silence.
Did have it set at 1.2v and SA at auto but was getting rainbow six crashing to desktop every 7-8 rounds.
Done 30 (8-10 games) rounds today - no crash :) Realbench score is 162k and from my own experience ive got a boost in perf at 3440 x 1440p in r6. Def getting less fps dips and core load via afterburner is showing a nice even distribution of 20-60%.
Fanboyism aside Im glad I upgraded from 6700k which is now my HTPC ;). Im future proof for at least 5 yrs.
