At this moment in time i am running a Gigabyte ATI Radeon HD 7850 OC Windforce 2X 2048MB in CrossFire.

With black friday/xmas just around the corner would it be worth while to look for a new card then or keep my money close and wait until the new line-up of cards Next year?

If a certain card was to creep below the £200 mark like an r9 390 i may be tempted to make a move before xmas other than that, IMHO opinion, i don't think there is a need to upgrade just yet.

The most important factor in a gfx upgrade is the monitor/s resolution and refresh rate at this point in time. If you are far below the refresh max it's generally worth updating your hardware.

Most people will be on 1080p and 60hz which isn't particularly demanding but AAA games can still tax it. Your vram is pretty low for modern games, even at 1080p but only you know if this is a limitation to your current setup and games played.

The 390 is a great card to consider but I expect it to be lackluster when compared to next gen products on a die shrink, again it will come down to how much you actually need to upgrade for performance. Be careful not to buy just because your bored and getting fidgety :D

If you don't feel your setup is limiting your gaming experience then you're better off waiting. 390 would be a good step forward if you felt the need for a modern card.

Got 2 days to play fallout 4 and will hope to play everything in ultra minus the AA and shadows of course will be slightly annoyed if i couldn't achieve ultra. I Didn't know my crossfire was close to a 390 but saying that at the time of purchasing these cards they were spoken highly of.

Yes 7850 crossfire is almost as fast as the 390 when the software profiles are working well. 2GB is cutting it a bit fine with that sort of power though. I hope for your and many others sake that AMD have a working crossfire profile ready for release, or that would suck with it being so highly anticipated.

You might be out of luck mate, it seems that cards are hardly scaling well on Fallout 4 crossfire, I think SLI is not working yet either. Hope you get on well with your 7850s and they don't struggle too much. It's one of the problems with dual GPUS you see, with new games it can take a while to sort out the profile. I had to sell my crossfire card because I hated waiting when new games came out to get that juicy scaling.

SLi can work but only if you force it in the nvidia file its been mentioned in the fallout 4 thread and also reddit. ATI does not work at all this puts me in a crappy state, i just spent a fortune updating my rig only to find my crossfire set up would do me over. I would not have expected this likely outcome 1 month ago.
