7900GT not performing

I'll just add that yesterday I upgraded my drivers from 84.21 (which came with the card) to 91.47 and my 3dmark06 score dropped 500 marks to 4545. Went back to 84.21 and it was back up to 5015.
I was going to post a thread about this, but this one seems relevant...

edit: no_1_dave - can I ask what drivers you're using since they are non approved? Might have to overclock my gfx seeing your scores...

My 3dMark scores are old & I honestly cant remember what drivers they were from. I just use the latest ones on the site. Also, remember I have my card volt modded & overclocked.

You should be getting about 5000 in 06 & I would have thought maybe 9500 in 05 @ stock. have you double checked v-sync is off? no aa & af on? I really dont know what it could be, it sounds like there's a driver conflict somewhere or something

I think at stock he should only be looking at 8-8.5k or so in 3dmark05 with that processor. He's under but he's not that far under. With a massive overclock on my old 7800gt I think I only got 8.3k or so.

Just to check though, you are using a 7900gt and not a 7900gs right?

i used to get higher than that with my x850xt , hugely clocked tho.
i;d expect more than 8k at stock with a 7900.
