Are there any differences between the makes of the cards when it comes to clocking.

i saw a review with the leadteck extreme edition one which claimed that specific cores allowed for best overclocks. if so, any idea when OcCK will have them?

anyone got the Gainward BLISS version and if so what clocks are you getting as i may buy one due to sale price?

I bought the Ocuk version (the cheapest one, also on This Week only for £217 right now), along with a Zalman VF900.

I was surprised how well it clocks, at stock volts i could reach 550/1800.

With a 1.4v mod on the core and a memory mod, i can reach 640/1980 :D

So it seems that the 'extreme editions' arent really any better than standard.

seems i may do the same then my friend, thank you very much!! :D

Lo

Hey Johanson,

ive seen the voltmod done HERE i shouldn't have a problem doing the vmod, but i was just wondering, when they say increasing the ''core voltage'' do they mean in the bios where the voltage is set to something like 1.55v - increase this? - what voltage does yours run at? and then the vmod increases the hardware limitation of the rams voltage? - fyi, im not new to overclocking cpu's but gpu's ive never fiddled with the voltage of those :D

[am i right to think this?!]

Thanks

The voltage going to the core is originally set at 1.2v IIRC, so it will be at 1.2v before any mods are done.
Increasing the voltage going to the core/gpu is done by using the conductive paint, as shown in that link. It has nothing to do with the bios, and the bios doesnt have to be fiddled with at all.
Mine is set at 1.4v at the moment, as i cant seen to get the 1.5v mod to work yet.
I dont know about the hardware limitation of the ram voltage in relation to the core voltage.

Hope that answered your questions :)

Also have a read of this thread if you havnt already: 7900 overclocking
