7950 bottleneck

Hiya guys since Gibbo has announced 7950's will drop to £300 so I've decided to sell my 6950 for 1gb but my question is will a AMD 955 at stock bottleneck a 7950 ? Or will I see a bigger frame rate increased from a new please processor or something ?

Your going to see to an increase but it will be game dependant. What sort of games do you play and is your CPU overclocked?

I'm mainly upgrading for battlefield 3 and no my CPU is at stock

I was running a 6950 1gb with a AMD 3.2g at stock, and found it bottlenecked when playing BF3, now I have upgraded to a i5 and Oc to 4.8ghz, and find it's awesome getting around 70-120 fps with medium settings. hope this helps.

Overclock that CPU to 3.6ghz+ and you'll be fine with a 7950. BF3 is more GPU dependant anyway, and the 7950 will handle it no problems.

Sorry to hijack but similar question except I have a Q6600 @ 3.2GHz. Would I be ok going from 6950 to 7950?

Gah Everyone says just Overclock your CPU but I really don't know how stability anyway, and I don't know how to test for Stability. Help ?

Sorry to hijack but similar question except I have a Q6600 @ 3.2GHz. Would I be ok going from 6950 to 7950?

I'd also like to know if amyone is running the new cards on oc'd q***'s and if so how gaming results compare to i5/i7's

All I can add is that although I expect I am bottlenecked, game play is still very smooth and easily more than adequate with a Q6600 @ 3.4 and a SOC gtx480.
