7950 flickering issue

I got the HIS IceQ Boost 7950 a week ago and it's been fine except for an annoying flickering problem which happens regularly.

This isn't my video but it shows the kind of flicker I mean.

Googling it suggests it's a problem between the AMD drivers and 120Hz monitors, which I have. Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anyone know of a solution to this flickering problem?

I'm really not putting up with this, half a mind to RMA this and go back to Nvidia...

what driver's are you using? i have a msi 7950 and am using the latest 12.8 drivers with no issue.

have you overclocked? do you have msi afterburner installed with the hack to make the clock speed higher? as this causes flickering also?
did you wipe your old drivers before installing your new?

if not im guessing u have a dud card nothing to do with drivers.

The card is running at the factory OC of 925/1250. AMD OverDrive pushed this up during gaming until I switched it off, which hasn't resolved it.

I am using MSI Afterburner, both 2.2.3 and now 2.2.4, but only to modify fan speeds.

I've never had any AMD drivers besides 12.8, this is my first AMD card.

I've googled this problem and there seem to be a lot of people with these issues, can't find any working fixes though...

This issue was with old drivers, first time i have seen it with 12.8.

It used to be a problem with it switching between 2D and 3D memory clocks, the way to cure it was to force constant 3D clocks, i think you can do that in Asus GPU Tweak.

I had this issue, I found it was tied to MSI Afterburner. I ticked the box to set overclock at start up. This is when i ran into this flickering.

So, I unticked the box in Afterburner. When i boot up windows, I just boot up afterburner manually. Now the flickering has stopped.

Use Sapphire TRIXX, i find it works better with AMD cards anyway.
