So uninstalled all drivers, and ran Driver Sweeper. Rebooted and installed the latest beta drivers.
Now the card is running a few degrees hotter! Wth!

40oC, Core: 880 Mhz Memory: 1250 Mhz all stock settings.

Is it faulty :(

Furmark is fine. It is just like using Prime to test a CPU, just watch the temperature. It will hit max temperature very quickly so you don't need to run it more than a few minutes. Heaven is more of a game benchmark which is good to see if you have OC'ed too far and error checking is kicking in.

Does any one own a gigabyte 7950 or know how they perform?
If the difference in temperature is not big than i will just stay with MSI...

http://scr.hu/0u78/nsov4 - some results (57% fan speed was the max iv seen). Thats as far as it would go, i did try the voltage at Msi afterburner but the pc restarted after 1 min of heavy heaven behnchmark... Are they good results?
Room temp probably around 21-22 max

This is what happened to me today - uninstalled 12.9, driver swept and tried the 12.11 beta. Idles now 57'C (2'C up) and max on BF3 hit 77'C, also up. I have to say performance is good - just hot, noisy and am not sure of the oc potential.

After reading this post earlier i checked my gigabyte 7950. I am on stock volts but with +20% power ,and running at 1030/1450.
After letting heaven loop for half an hour i had hit 64 c , With auto fan on 47 % , almost silent . And that is using 12.11 beta drivers .

Oh yeh i idle at 28 deg .

Ive just bought a Gigabyte 7950, using 12.11 beta drivers im getting idle temps of 40 deg :( ?

My memory is at 1250 and gpu at 500 at idle but if I knock the memory back to 150 in CCC the gpu drops to 300 and the temps come back down to 30 deg.

Playing BF3 on Ultra settings my temps go up to mid 50's with the fan running at about 40%.

I cant understand why it idles at 1250 mem and 500 gpu onstead of 150/300 ?

Im running 2 monitors and as some one above said if you unplug 1 monitor the memory drops down to 150 mhz and 300 gpu at idle where as if I use 2 monitors it goes up to 1250 memory and 500 gpu ...strange.

The one that came with the case was OK but stopped spinning properly. This one is too loud for 24/7 use but will undervolt it.

It was probably the same red LED 200mm frosted plastic fan i have in my HAF 912+, its still spinning, for now.

I use Asus Thermal Radar to keep it spinning at 350 - 400 RPM when my computer isn't doing much (silent like that), i linked it to the CPU temperature to spin up to max once is gets to 50c.

I'm quite impressed with it considering it can be bought for about £7 to replace, i did not think it would be good enough to keep when i bought the case, but no it does the job well, and its not loud even at full pelt, which is only 700 RPM, its just a light rumble really.

Well, Iv bought 2x BeQuiet Silent wings. I will mount them and see how they perform and if GPU temp will drop down...

I read one of your posts saying you have three fans extracting.
Why don't you try changing one of them round to act as another intake?

I swapped one my case fans round to get positive pressure and the difference for me was favourable by a couple of degrees.

I've got one of these being delivered today but won't get a chance to test it before the weekend. Have you tried a different driver version ?

I build my PC yesterday so haven't had time to do much testing but the graphics card idles at 32°C and after an hour of Heaven, maxed at 62°C.
