7950 overclock BF3

Hey guys

Overclocked my MSI TF3 7950 boost edition from 960/1250 to 1150/1575, Metro 2033 and Crysis 3 saw a 8-12 fps boost but for some reason BF3 multiplayer stays the same? anyone know why? i know multiplayer is quite cpu intensive.

Your CPU might be at it's limit? Vsync?

Ahh ok i see. I have a FX-8350 stock. I don't use vsync in any of my games.

I'm running BF3 on Ultra settings 4x msaa and HBAO @1080p so can't really go much higher haha but you're right about cpu i noticed a noticeable difference going from a 955be to the 8350.

So only means of increasing the fps really is to oc the cpu?

At stock, my 3570k bottlenecked a bit, (gtx 670 @ 1310/7560). Clocking the cpu to 4.5ghz helped a great deal, though minimum fps were still lower than my old i7 [email protected].

Suprised at that actually the 3570k is a great cpu!

Well as d_brennen said i better get clocking. I think a new cpu cooler is in order, clock this baby up a bit!

The 8350 does shine in BF3, even if it turns out that your CPU isn't bottlenecking, a decent clock on the 8350 and you will get a nice performance boost anyway.

Cheers mate would 4.4-4.5ghz be a good one? Need a decent air cooler and one that would fit my case any recommendations?
