Hey guys,

Anyone have any idea of what the max voltage is on the 7950? So far I've tried to reach around 1150 but it seems like my chip just needs a lot of volts :(

Anyone else made much progress on overclocking theirs?

powertune? What's that?

I bought the sapphire 7950 OC so I'm trying to use the Trixx software atm. It seems ok. I'm tempted to go back to afterburner.

I had a stable overclock (or so it seemed) at 1150 core/1575 mem/1.280 volts but it kept freezing on battlefield 3. I've tried to play around with it a lot and it seems that I can only achieve 1100/1450/1250 atm

Look at the bottom of the image:

ahh, so that may be why I'm not having much luck with attaining a higher OC. I thought I just had a bad draw from the silicon lottery :P I'll have to retry OC'ing now that I've got it on +20%

1150MHz already looks pretty good.

Don't overdo it and don't just whack the voltage up to the max.

Now you've enabled Power Control of +20% I'd back down on the voltage a bit and see where you can get.

Good luck.

I didn't realise that Power Control could be used as well as AB.
Just thought increasing the voltage in AB was the answer to attaining that higher OC.
I have also been having 'stable' ocs using Heaven but in BF3 it is not happy and freezes.

This was one reason i hated GPU overclocking. Could be bench stable but always find a certain game that will make it fall over.

Power tune seems to have made no difference in my OC :( I'm aiming for 1150 but it looks like its too far for my little silicon. I have to use over 1.28 volts to get there. Seems like I'm gonna have to stick with around 1120/1500

Yea. But generally if you could find a stable clock on Heaven, just make a seperate profile with the core clock at around 50MHz lower for the more demanding games such as BF3, Crysis etc.

I have the same card as you and running stable for over a week now on stress tests and BF3 on stock volts at 1025 / 1575. Not tried increasing the volts yet
