Looking at potentially upgrading my 7950, would a 290 be that much of an improvement or would I see a decent return if I picked up another 7950 off of ebay cheap?

7950 upgrade

another 7950 would be best bet and can be had for around £120 now. Will also give you more fps than any single card on the market today and a damn site cheaper as well. I can't recommend 7950 crossfire enough, insane performance for the price point.

If your motherboard and PSU support crossfire then I would definitely recommend another 7950.

so 50/50 at the moment...cost wise another card is going to be say £100-£120 from what I see on ebay, but current gen would be say £200+ but would "in theory" drop in price with the new cards coming soon. However a single one of those is probably not as good as 2 7950's in crossfire?

750w is fine
Why don't you sell your 7950 for like 120 and get a r9 290 and the when you feel like you need more power, then pick up another 290

You would see boost in games where crossfire isn't supported,but all other games 2x7950>290.Can't bit the look of two gpus,anyway.

I have a 3570k and sold my 7950 to fund a 290, didn't think it would be much of an upgrade but it is amazing, blistering frames in all games.
