Hey there, I run my 7950's at 1125/1450, iv decided to overclock them further.
Iv decided to volt them up a bit and see how far I can push them but... last night I decided to monitor the volts for the first time, and they both run at 1.138v, and iv noticed in afterburner its set at 0.950, so they are ignoring that slider, power is @ +20. and iv monitored them in gpuz they run at 1.138v?...
I moved the slider up to 1.2v in afterburner, and they go up to 1.2v for about 1 second before returning to 1.138v all the time in games, and they power down to 0.8v idle.
So iv downloaded trixx and I put the volts up, did nothing. unless I click force constant voltage in the settings page, then I can keep them at 1.2v all the time... But they never power down if I click that option when idle, And also that's no good volting them up in trixx because I overclock in afterburner all my profiles, fan settings, on screen displays etc are set up in afterburner.
So any idea whats going on here guys?
Also, another spin off is that my gpu2 sometimes is at higher than 1.138v it sometimes but rarely goes to the voltage that I set in afterburner, so im maybe thinking that my gpu1 is voltage locked? Though they are identical cards both Tahiti etc, my gpu1 is Hynix memory, gpu2 is Elpida, so im guessing they aren't as identical as I think but with stock volts they both clock identical
Thanks
Edit: Memory voltage does nothing on each cards either but as stock, gpu1 runs at 1.5v memory, and gpu2 1.6v memory
Edit2: Iv just noticed the force constant voltage setting in afterburner, that works to constantly keep them volted up, but is useless because they never power down when idle :/
Edit3: Iv just set everything back to my old overclock with stock volts, and im monitoring gpu2, and its voltage is 1.178, its as if the voltages of that aren't taking notice of anything at all. so is gpu1 locked and gpu2 unlocked then?
