Plenty of reports suggest that the Sapphire Vapor-X is volatge locked, meaning limited overclocks even if it does have the extended pcb.

Sapphire 7950 Vapor X OC Boost version IS voltage locked according to the
answer I got from Sapphire Customer Support when I asked them that very same question:

........ why did they ruin a great card like that![]()
Can't you use Trixx?.
I've got a Sapphire 7970 OC coming tomorrow and hope it's not the same.
The voltage "locked" issue is something unique to the HD750 Vapor-X thus you should be fine.
. I can last another day on CS:GO
.I've read people had success to unlock voltage for Vapor-X by flashing 7970 bios.
My stuff didn't leave warehouse yesterday either and I've placed the order just before 1pm.
.
I'll try to dig out the source.
looking to get this with an ek 7950 waterblock is it a 7950 reference pcb?

Power Connectors: 8-pin + 6-pin

Bugger, may have to look at a diff card.

I'd say just go for any 7950 which is on a 7970 PCB and then get a 7970 block for it. There isn't any difference in terms of overclockability (silicone lottery aside) between the 7950s which are on reference 7970 PCBs, only difference is the cooler (which doesn't matter) Just go for one with a good warranty and price![]()
