You may need to look into if Intel CPU’s are faster for this program
As one post I seen from googling seems to think having an intel CPU for this program is much faster

How come xgboost is significantly slower on my better computer?

xgboost is performing very slowly for my more powerful computer for xgboost in particular. Weaker computer specs: Windows 10, python 3.9.7 (jupyter), pandas 1.3.5, sklearn 1.0.2, xgboost 1.5.1 16G...

The 7950X3D is great for gaming and productivity. Productivity wise I use mine for software development using Visual Studio. It was a noticeable upgrade from my 5900X which was surprising. Once setup it just works. Highly recommended.
