7970 crashing help

hey guys i have a 7970 gigabyte oc

so my problem is that recently doesn't matter what game i play my game freezes and i get message "display driver has stopped working and recovered"

any ideas as to why or is my card dying?

i have uninstalled drivers got new ones used old ones but nothing works grrr

Test another 7970 or test yours in another system if you can.

don't have this option unfortunately

my power supply is a possible factor its 750w which is enough but only bronze and i have had it years im wondering if its on way out

my cpu is clocked to 4.9ghz but even @ stock it does it so defo gpu related and i get driver error message

I am assuming it is the same with any benchmark programs? Can you temporarily install windows on a diff. drive to see if the same happens, so we can rule out software completely?

tried with stock cpu clocks? just to rule out your oc that's causing gpu drivers to fail

EDIT: just read you already did that

would be good if you could test with another psu

yeah tried standard clocks still same

just done fresh install of windows today doesn't do it as much but does do it still (so software was playing a part it seems)???

so now its intermittent

may see if i can take it to a friends to test it but he is a trek for me

just ran heaven on extreme and no crashes with my card overclocked as well this is odd but on steam i get crashes also 3d mark ran fine

it is a brain teaser for sure
