7970- Do I not get the most up-to-date drivers anymore?

There are no modded drivers now.

Not really true. Newest drivers are 15.200.1055.0 , which is another new branch of drivers under Win10. They increase drawcalls by small margin over 15.7's. But nothing major there. It's only natural AMD keeps these new drivers coming, and using win10 as their test bed. We'll get official releases of these branches when they're finishes. Just like we got thsoe 15.7 drivers.

I went to download the latest drivers for my card and noticed that the fury and 300 series is now separate to the 200, 7 and 6 series. Does this mean my drivers are not as 'good' as the ones for the latest cards?

it seems a bit strange as I thought my card was basically a 280x which is basically a 380x?

They are the same Driver, AMD separate them if you use the (Chose your system) drop-down options, if you just click on the generic Win 8.1_X64 link on the right you get exactly the same Driver but in one fits all form, because they are the same Driver..... http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+8.1+-+64

The 15.7 drivers give some nice gains in crossfire. Farcry 4 is running at around 70-80fps when before it was 50-70fps. Much smoother gameplay too. Witcher 3 was better too until the latest patch negated some the gains.

There the optimized for performance drivers that AMD had been promising for a while, They seem to do a good job for me, My 290x get's some good gains on quite a few titles.
