7970 Matrix Crossfire

I've got my PSU setup so that it draws cool air in from under the case and the blows the warm air out of the back, so sounds the same as you matey :) What graphics cards are you running with that triple screen setup mate, that looks awesome :D

Hi I have 2 x Sapphire HD 7970 OC's

DOH! Sorry mate I hadn't even realized it was you that posted the pictures, should have clicked on, lol.
So your running the same case as me, and the same motherboard, also an AMD CPU (what CPU you got, and what speed is it running at), and your running dual 7970's powering an eyefinity setup made up of three 24" monitors.

That sounds exactly what I'm after, if you could let e know your CPU specs etc, I'm going full steam ahead for another 7970 Matrix :D

Brilliant, thanks very much 'anthony566', my system is remarkably similar to yours :D
What games do you play on your eyefinity setup, I've never gone eyefinity before, but really want to give it a go and it looks SO immersive.

I give them all a go .... not all games play or support it very well but the ones that I am playing atm do they are are :-

BF 3 & 4
Crysis 3
Arma 3
DCS World ( flight sim )
Sniper Ghost Warrior 2

Yeah I understand that not all games support eyefinity, COD: Ghosts for one (which I play a lot of), but I also really like Battlefield 3, Crysis 3, Payday 2, and I'm also really into Grid: Autosport and Assetto Corsa :)

Yeah I've checked youtube and the like, and most of the games I play support eyefinity, so really looking forward to trying it out :)

Remember you need an ACTIVE display port adapter fot 3 monitors :)

I'm actually thinking of buying some monitors that come with Display Port inputs on them, that way I wouldn't need to purchase an Active Display Port Adapter :) That is correct isn't it?

I am not sure on that one .... the Asus monitors have 2 x HDMI and a VGA port so I use the DP out put from the 7970 with the Active adapter that converts to HDMI .... it sounds like it should work that way ....

Remember that you have to plug all 3 monitors into a single card for Cross Fire ... what connections does you 7970 have on it ??

I've got 2 DVI's and 4 full size Display Ports, so I'm pretty sure if I get monitor's with Display Ports I don't need to worry about getting an Active Adaptor.

that is correct if you are going DP to DP you do not need the adaptor .... that saves £20 :)

haha, that's my plan. The monitors are a little more expensive, but they're the ones I want, and it means I don't have to worry about adaptors which is definitely a bonus, and kind of justifies the extra cost of the monitors in my eyes ;)

Well, I'm planning on going for these

I've saved the money for two of them already, but just need to save for the 3rd and then I'll be buying them altogether. I don't want to buy two of them and then find that they go out of production and I can't get the 3rd.

Not cheap but a triple screen setup with these will be unbelievable

They look very nice ... the very thin bezels make mine look thick and mine are very thin compared to normal monitors ..... make sure you build something to stand them on so you can align them just right as triple stands are so expensive .... I only got one as I had got a tax rebate at the time so got the monitors and stand from OC at the same time but I don't think I could justify spending the cash on a stand atm ....

I think I'll have to use the supplied stands for the time being, at least until I get some more money together to afford something awesome like yours :) It's all money though, and I never seem to have enough to do what I want. I guess that's just life though.

WOW  Some of those desktops are superb, I'll definitely be taking a look at that site and saving some of my favourites to use for when I do get the monitors :D
