7970 replacement ?

If XTX is just higher clocked with a price premium i cant see the point for most users,, often we agree price/performance 290 is already a better deal than a 290x let alone a higher priced version
 
keep hold of what you got..there's nothing on the market single card wise that'll out perform what you have...unless you go to pretty extreme overclocking. It'll pretty much be a sidegrade, end up costing you more money and you'll be disappointed by the outcome. Wait till next year, see what's around in Q1 15 and go from there.
