Do you think I need to learn some cable management lol!
Just messing with the card fans in the Corsair link software, its really a cool program to be honest, can see each card temp and set fans individually, those temps are on idle but I put the fans on 65% in BF3 for at least one and a half hours with all the eye candy on and the temps were in the very low 40's.

evohicks what fps you get in bf3?

It varies to be honest, I have seen it as low as 65 but then it can stay up to around 185, it makes me wonder how much of both cards are being used, when I can get more results I will post back.
PS there is no stuttering at all from the little time I have used them in xfire.

I set up my first ever Crossfire earlier this week. I'm running 2x7950 HIS IceQ Turbos and am using RadeonPro. Was really worried I'd be bothered by this microstutter I've read about as I tend to pick up on these sorts of things but it's been a complete joy. Just been playing Crysis 3 on High at 40-60fps, very very smooth.

(Also running an FX-6300, 8GB RAM, Sabertooth 990FX and a single 60hz 1080p screen)

I would love to xfire but I had a 7970 matrix platinum which takes 3 slots and I have a asus xonar phoebus soundcard aswell I'm kinda stuck aren't I xD?

Just make sure you get a two slot 7970 and use that as your primary card, put the matrix as the slave card and have the phoebus on the bottom 16x lane.

yeah sounds good I think in time ill get another 7970 for crossfire preferably msi lightning I think!

Exactly this, wasn't prepared to pay 400 notes for a 7970GHz that I paid £351 a week or so ago.

Ocuk prices have lost the plot a bit recently all round it seems. I've started buying a few things elsewhere recently because of the inflated prices.

+1

Unless you get something on this week only I've found their prices just aren't competitive.

True, I wanted 7970 matrix platinum and OC prices were crazy for it, I ended up buying it else where only recently for allot cheaper!!(edited price out) for a brand new un-opened 7970 asus matrix platinum whereas I believe OC was selling it for 500+?

Good price and i would have done the same. Not sure whats going on tbh. Either way you might want to edit your post and remove the price as im sure they will tick you off for competitor hinting.

Yeah will do, thanks mate!!

I'd love to get another but 3 slot is abit of a killer as posted before xD

Does anyone know how to set the 2nd card fan speed in the Trixx program? I want to set a custom profile like the primary card but its not letting me.

Yeah both cards are running fine, I can see both cards in Trixx but when I select the bottom card, I can make a custom fan setting but it doesn't seem to follow it like the 1st one.
Might have to quit the Trixx program and use another maybe.

Look for an option in trixxx settings called sync card settings or something to that effect. There is an option in afterburner for that.

I only have one of these and I love it but was wondering what you guys have used to overclock it and to what levels have you overclocked it to?

My His cards came at a pretty low 925 core and 1375 memory( for a 7970). I did a bit of searching and found they could reach 7970 Ghz speeds without adjusting any voltage, 1100/1500.
Also I ran Sapphire Trixx and noticed that the voltage can also be adjusted.
Adjusting these clocks will generate more heat, although in my case nothing substantial.
Basically the way most find their cards limit is by pushing the levels up until they get errors/artifcts etc... answering your original question I used the catalyst control panel but usually Sapphire Trixx is my program of choice, I can create custom fan profiles for different applications.
Not tried MSI afterburner.

just got my second 7970 and quite impressed so far, had to reinstall ccc to get xfire working but no big deal, ive read a lot of people claiming poor scaling with crysis 3 but seems to be working fine for me on 13.5 betas, gpu's never look to drop below 80% use and hver aroun 90 odd most of the time
