Erm, is the updater screwed for anyone else? Kinda my fault, I had around 5gb left on my HDD and I didn't think to check/free some space. Its been updating constantly since around 8pm last night and its cranked up 13gb so far, had to restart it when it said i'd run out of space. Its saying 1h 20mins to finish, but its only 1/4 way through.

How big is the game?

Cant people just download the zipped version from fileplanet ? its only about 6-7gb , install and it auto patches

iirc the 6-7gb folder un zips to about 14gb, so u'd need to download 2 gig of patches, so looking around 9gb d/l total.

Anyone running this game ok?
i get bad stuttering and it drops to 10fps in towns i have tried all the ini tweaks but cant get it to run decent on my rig 6600 conroe 2 gig ddr2 8800 gts

Runs super smooth here at 1920x1200 on balanced settings, average about 50fps .. no file tweaks

Read vanguard runs better on ATI and there was a post on silky venom today about some old ini tweaks making the game actually run worse.

Runs fine here on an x1800xt. Balanced detail with a few set on high. Still looks really nice.

There's a debugger running in the background too as far as I know, should be smoother in retail.

Really liking this game from the little i've played. Going to hold back to see if the retail is any smoother, as i'm getting a lot of stuttering and lag whatever detail settings I have on.

Seems there will be no uk copies of vanguard in shops until march

You can of course purchase a US version of the game by ordering it or Direct2Drive and you will be able to enjoy Vanguard on the 30th. Localized copies for Europe are underway and will be available in March.

still no word on whether there will be euro servers at launch seems like it will be us servers only.
hope my ping to those servers is ok
