8-core Mac Pro launched...

Not really 8-core is it. Its two quad cores, I think there will be quite an overhead there tbh. Considering quad core are two duel cores communicating over the fsb

I built it up a bit hehe

$17,042 for dual quad core, 2 x 30" LCD screens, 4 x 750gb drives, the biggest graphics and the rest too.

hahaha that would pwn all but would be way OTT hehe

I'd rather buy a Dell 2950 with dual quadcore Xeon and SAS 15k drives, tbh... been out for months ... ;)

Dell suck though. ;)

It was only a few years ago you could max out a Mac Pro for around £8. :( Although, if any lottery winnings come my way... ;)

They might give it some publicity at that NAB event which is coming up. Wonder if they have reduced the prices on the 2.0/2.66/3.0 quad-core configurations then.

The Mac Pro hasn't even been on the market for one year. It launched at WWDC last summer.

The one before it then.

The Power Mac G5. :)
