Or he was trying to make you buy a 4 core for his sales rep. Either way goon!

Apple employees are not allowed to even hint or acknowledge existence of anything not on the apple website ... we also do not get bonuses or perks on sales performance.

We also find out about products exactly the same time the public do.

That's a BIG price difference between us and the US store
Pick a usable machine... 8core, 4gig, 500gig, 23inch, wireless:
- US: $5,800 (£2,900)
- UK: £3,800

Nothing new there then. :(

Atleast something appears to be being done about the stupid iTunes prices here.

I never get this from Apple. Now they are in the Intel world, they should be updating their systems to reflect their competitors. Why are they still charging the same processor price in the Mac Pro from last year? Why are they still using the 7300GT as the default graphics?

Yes, it's probably because they can get away with it but it still annoys me.

If only you could spec a 8800GTX...

I will be ordering this bohemoth nearer my birthday (sept), just to let them get the initial batches out the door.. oh, and leopard ;)
