I know it is not a lot of time in such a city but it is what it is :D

Any suggestions on what to cram in please?

Eight hours is from CDG and back to CDG in the 8 hours.

Would like to climb their Blackpool Tower and goto Montmartre but other than that, wide open.

Food will be consumed as and when I see somewhere I can eat on the run (cheaper the better). Suggestions? Prefer to eat with the locals for better value if possible. Last time went to London got the train out to a Pie and Mash place, cost a few quid and they said "You can have any pie, but we only have these". Was great, service was quick, food was hot and not a tourist in sight (bar me), no complaints :D

Any input appreciated, thanks.

Don't bother with the Eiffel Tower, head down to the Louvre for a mooch about and walk up through the Tuileries garden. Montmatre is worth a walk round too.

Those Gardens look good for a mooch around :D

I know the tower is what it is but I want to go.. yes, call me a tourist :(

The Taxi is dropping me off at the tower so that gives some time saved.

Back brexti, go to Blackpool instead.

:D

Thanks to everyone for their helpful posts.

Put together the following itinerary, a "mad dash" but Sunday is for sleep :D

Eiffel Tower
Arc de Triomphe
Notre Dame
Sacré-Cœur,

All on foot so getting from A>B should be fun and get a walk down the Champs-Élysées and a little by the canal.

Will fit in some lunch while walking inbetween stops.

Had a great day, albeit very tiring.

Got to go up the tower and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it, I walked upto it from the Trocadéro Gardens where I got dropped off and to be honest, it was an amazing sight.

The rest of the days plans kind of went out of the Window.

I walked from the Tower to the Champs-Élysées, got some food then planned to goto the Arc de Triomphe, however, this happened:

I then found myself a spectator to it all. The number of police was crazy from what I saw, the protesting was peaceful with the odd smoke flare and fireworks going off. Ended up spending waay too much time here. It was like some reality TV show I knew I should not be watching but somehow, was glued to it :D

I then proceeded to walk on foot down the Champs-Élysées on the road as it was all blocked off down to Place de la Concorde. Felt surreal with first off, walking on the road and secondly it was all soo quiet down this end with the roads being closed and all the action up at the Arc. There was also "check points" at various points on the Champs-Élysées where bags were checked. I just got the impression that on a "normal" day, this road would be a hive of activity but on this occassion, it was like an apocalypse.

I then walked along the river, past the Louvre and walked up into town and got the Metro to Sacré-Cœur. I really wish I went here straight from the Tower, a nice bustly place. Was only her for about ½ hour before Taxi picked me up.
