8 mb partition appeared on my raptors

hi guys

i recently reinstalled windows xp prof and when i got to the choice of drives to install windows on both my 74 gb and 36 gb raptors had a 8 mb partition on them which i couldnt delete from that window so i went ahead and installed windows and then went to hardrive properties and there is no sign of these partitions. the only thing i can think of is that i used a trial version of a acronis disk imager along while back and i wonder if this sort of programme would do this if so i will use fdisk to delete these partitions. can anyone shed any light on this ?

Its a Windows reserved partition.

Dont worry about it.

The 8 meg is kept there in case you ever want to convert it to a Dynamic Disc.

You can reclaim it by extending the size of your partiton using Partitin Magic etc.

However if you do reclaim the 8 meg you wont be able to convert it to dynamic.

thanks for your replies guys. i have reinstalled windows several times over the years and i cant say i recall seeing these partitions so i better go for a eye checkup lol
