8 pin into a 6+2 slot?

I've a 5 year old Corsair RM750x which should still have plenty life in it, however just wanted to double check something first.

Going to upgrade to a 4070ti super which comes with a 3x 8-pin-to-12VHPWR connecting cable. The arrangement on my PSU is as pictured. Can I safely plug two of the 8 pins into the sockets on the lower right, then the third into what seems to be a 6+2 pin slot immediately left of those two? Would it be better to get a 2x 8 pin to 12VHPWR cable instead, which should be fine for that card?

Sorry for asking questions like a 2 year old, PSU's are the one thing in a build that I want to be sure about!

Diagram on psu is not helpful!!!

To be sure check the manual -if it has one.

My own interpretation is that your interpretation is correct {i.e. you do not need a new cable)- no guarantee that my interpretaion is correct, tho!!

No, the ones on the left are for pci-e (i.e gpu) the ones on the right are for your EPS rails.

You'll be better off getting the corsair official cable that has 2x8 on one end.

This is where the confusion comes from as it isn't 100% clear, but I think all 4 of those 8 pin connectors can be used with either the PCI-E cables or the EPS cables. It'll be the cables themselves that determine what they can be plugged into.

Ok thanks everyone. Just going to order the 2x8 corsair cable, should be plenty for that card and much more simple. Yes, diagram extremely confusing!

You have 4 x 8 pin pcie connectors split into 2 cables that plug into those 2 slots on the psu , plug 3 8 pin pcie into the cable provided with the 4070ti leaving 1 spare..

This is how I see it. Worth looking at the psu manual to be sure.

As far as I can see, the manual is effectively useless. All the information it gives you is what's included in the box, alongside some fan noise graphs!

I checked the manual is pants

You use the 2 bottom right connectors on the pcie for the pcie cables provided with the psu.

The writing on the PSU is offset so a little confusing.

I believe a 4070ti super only requires a 2x 8-pin-to-12VHPWR, so you can just plug in the two pcie 8 pins from the bottom right into two of the arms/legs/who knows what they're called of the adaptor and it should work fine. No need to buy another adaptor as far as I'm aware.

I think some come with 3 like the ROG Strix GF RTX 4070 Ti Super

Ah interesting fair enough, still with 2 that in theory gives 375W which I would have guessed is more than enough, could always daisy chain two of them, maybe not ideal vs 3 separate but for this situation I can't see it being an issue.

Yeah it's a Zotac and coming with a 3x. Have ordered the 2x anyway and will see what happens when I put everything together, can always return that cable if not needed.
