8 TB M.2 - snooze & lose

The other day I noticed that the price of the 8 TB M.2 drives on one of OCUK's competitors had dropped below £1000. I was sorely tempted but decided to sleep on it. The next day I found that one was sold out and the others were back over £1000 - well over, in fact.

I'm guesing it's this Chia thing.

Oh well.

Do you really need an 8TB SSD though? Most people only need that much storage for bulky file types such as video and images. 8TB hard drives will do for that.

The industry is trending toward large SSD's, in 2 years time 8TB SSD's will be half that price or less.

I spent the money on an iPad Pro instead.
