There are a couple of political quizzes that I've come across recently that give a lot more insight into your political values than the political compass test that we've had on the forum before, just curious where other people on OCUK stand. The full 9 axes has a lot of questions but you can do a shorter version of it. :p

Why do we group our beliefs?
Divide and rule, innit. :p

Political stuff used to be much more of a private issue when I was younger. It was even considered rude to ask someone how they voted.

I miss things being that way to be honest. Now in the UK we have family members who won't talk to each other over political beliefs. Ridiculous.

I don't mind doing these tests just to make sure I'm not some extremist nut job. :D Wonder who is mining all the data though.

Plus you never know whether the people who display these for all to see have not been tweaking their result to show how liberal and progressive they are in public but they may be hide bound traditionalist small c conservatives in the closet.

A kind of look at me, how cool am I.

I got libertarian socialism

Strong in
globalisation (vs isolation)
pacifism (vs military)
Equality (vs markets)
Secular (vs religion)

Very USA biased

Yeah, wonder how many times it takes Tony to get 100% liberal :p

Some of those questions are very clearly aimed at the U.S. I think political tests like this must be tailored to a specific country in order for them to be accurate. I guess they're alright for a rough look though.

Probably as many times as it takes you to not look like a raving far right nutcase. :p

I really am not the type of person you think I am.

Pretty sure you’re confusing me with someone else there Tony. Otherwise, you can always quote my posts that have given you that impression.

That last sentence is pretty funny considering the conclusion you’ve immediately jumped to lmao.

Are you asking for specifics of a generalised theory? When applied to the topic at hand, politics, doesn't it become readily understandable?

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about, these political tests are just a fun way of finding out where abouts you are on the spectrums, there's nothing sinister about it. I think you're reading into it too much.

As always with these tests, I'm a Centrist, where I agree strongly with idea's from both the Left and Right. So for example I'm pro Gay marriage & pro Immigration which are quite Left but also pro Law & Order and anti-Abortion where it's used as a method of birth control (pro-abortion for rape, incest, medical reasons) which is quite Right.

However I'm also very aware that the "something is either Black or White" idea held by immature, almost childlike minds is currently spreading rapidly as we seem to be increasingly infantilising our population, to the detriment of civil discourse everywhere i.e. the idea that if you disagree with a single thing a particular "side" says you therefore must be fully against everything that "side" says and therefore you must automatically be a far right neo-nazi, racist, misogynist, homophobe or a far left commie, snowflake, marxist etc etc.
