Hey guys,

Right so I have £800 to spend on a new PC for my Mrs.

Now my Mrs will use it for 2 things mainly. Gaming (Overwatch & Destiny 2) and Designing, so I just want to make sure it handles those tasks well enough. In regards to Overwatch I ideally want it to run on High and comfortably but I know Destiny 2 is a bit more demanding so Medium is more than ok if needed.

Other wants:
250GB SSD
8GB or 16GB of Ram
1TB HDD
Windows 10

Now I have another £200 set aside for a monitor to go with it too, so if there are any recommendations please let me know. (if its aesthetically pleasing that will be a bonus).

Ideally for we'd have it pre-built, but if you guys are kind enough to give me a make-it-yourself option as well as pre-built that would be fab.

Looking to buy by EOW!

Thanks

@baltazar

Overwatch is a fast paced game ! AMD RX 589 with a freesync 144hz screen to run it pretty and fast

6 cores with 12 threads for gaming a designing - although Intel could be better depending on programs used
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,001.46
(includes shipping: £19.62)

Also getting self build you can get more for your money, but you can always copy this thread into the Customer service Section and post up o. pre-sales and see what the can offer you price wise to build with 3 year warranty. Might blag free shipping!!!
And @Gibbo has really lowered price in the rx580
They will work hard for a sale so push them!

Hey buddy, thats amazing thank you!

But with that Im still missing Windows 10 and a SSD, any idea what I could change/minimize to potentially sneak them in? I know I can whack about £50 off the monitor price you found if absolutely needed.

Thanks!

Check what their policy for dead pixels are first ! :)
Also, what games do you play? Trying to squeeze in a 250GB for OS as well as games items tight, specially when 7 games will fill that SSD up, some games are 70GB from the get go .
Windows 10 can be had cheap , but you'll have to Google that.

Although 16GB is starting to become the normal

might be worth a 1060?

It's when you factor in a G-sync 1080p 144hz for £380 odd Vs £200 for freesync , AMD stand out :)

Avoid the kolink PSU, not the place for this build, stick with the Evga . Not worth dropping it just to squeeze SSD.
Also, you'll need to add a HDD at some point, depending on the games you have now and want to get, 250GB will fill up fast . Windows Fall update is 20GB! But have option to delete older versions which can save 10-40GB of space

You enjoy also selected ITX version of the case
Personally from using that case and the cost of it, would rather go for these

Also in the basket, bottom left you'll find BBCode, click on that and copy the coding text

Awesome, I've added in a 1TB HDD (didnt realise I missed it haha)
And replaced the case for the 301 you suggested.
Went back to the EVGA PSU too

Do I need any extra fans or anything?

Otherwise that should be me set

Worth reading a review of the in win case, just to be 100% but might be worth 2 or 3 120mm fans as I don't think it includes any .
2 intake and one exhaust to supply good cook air in as well as positive pressure to keep dust at bay !

Good cheap fans ,

But I might be worth LED fans to brighten up the inside of the case, and window tint is dark

Get the 8GB team group 3200hz linked above , cheaper and gives you the 3/5% performance increase ;)

Not sure if the white LED fans will light that case enough :) but worth a try and good to have them in the front to get clean air into the system :)
How much more is the glass version of that case ?

Awesome.
Also whats the best monitor for under £200?

I do have a Acer Predator (for myself) that i love, was thinking of just getting the same for this build. But is there something better?

Just above £200 but the AOC I quoted

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...descreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-030-ao.html

Freesync to go with the RX580 and is 144hz TN panel. Freesync should stop any tearing with games falling under 120fps at ultra settings ;)

Lowest pred, £240 1080p 144hz TN

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...descreen-led-monitor-black-red-mo-103-ac.html

Also going for the Toshiba P300 1TB drive will save £8 at £39.99

And add £4 thermal Grizzlie to the order ! Slap that on the stick heatsink and should hit 3.7 Ghz overclock on all cores

Don't get that AOC or Acer.

It is a much newer monitor, with better colour accuracy and deeper blacks. It also has a strobing backlight.

^^^^ seems solid, never used LG before, family work for Samsung so would beat me haha
Same two year warranty Vs AOC 3 - but guess both doesnt cover , dieing pixels

@southernorth , would you go Acer Pred for extra £10 over LG?
It's an updated version of the LG24GM77 basically. The previous version got really good reviews, often recommended alongside the Viewsonic XG2401 as the 'best' 1080p TN 144hz FreeSync monitors. You can find it for £199.99 on other sites too, which is an excellent price.

I wouldn't pick the Acer for £10 more, no.

But above all this I would pick one of the Samsung 144hz VA monitors, have you seen one in person if your family works for Samsung?
