Hi
I would like to build my 1st ever intel build as I've always used AMD before
and thought it be time to upgrade from my DDR2/AMD phe IIx4 940processor

This is what I've come up with so far

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97N-Gaming 5 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £122.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £88.00
1 x Corsair Obsidian Series 250D Mini ITX Compact Gaming Case - Black (CC-9011047-WW) £71.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £67.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G1600HC9DC01) £55.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £43.99
1 x Corsair SP120 Quiet Series High Pressure Low Noise - Dual Pack (CO-9050006-WW) £22.00
1 x Corsair Air Series AF140 1200RPM LED Red Quiet Edition (CO-9050017-RLED) £10.99
1 x Akasa "Vegas" Red LED strip light - 60cm £8.99
Total : £502.52 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Wasn't sure what PSU to get...Will be getting a CPU when the k's come out
as for GPU I was going to wait til July when I would have around £350 to spend on one.
I've got keyboard/mouse..monitor but will use window 7 from my old machine as window 8 doesn't support my gamecom 780's headset
So what do you guys think?

Looks good. PSU will depend on what GPU you're getting. At £350 budget, a good 550W should cover it. If you want to give yourself a bit of leeway in case you spot a ridiculous offer on a 290X or 780Ti, then get a 650W. Can't go wrong with these two:

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 650W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £49.99

You could get a 200mm front fan instead of the 140, if you like. Push a bit more air. It won't be seen in that position so it doesn't have to be Corsair. And you could get 2 x 80mm rear fans.

YOUR BASKET
1 x BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm Red LED - Black £15.95
2 x Antec TriCool 80 Red LED 3 speed 80mm Case Fan £8.99 (£17.98)

Thanks
Was thinking of getting one of those cards and sure 550w should cover it.
Is there any full modular PSU I could get, that I could buy shorter leads for as I would hate a nest next to my one and only air intake.

You're welcome.

I wouldn't bother, as what I'd do is coil up the excess cables' length, right next to where they connect to the PSU, sort of like winding a miniature water hose, and then wrap a zip tie or velcro around them, to keep them nice and tidily against the PSU.

But if you really want modular and short cables:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Silverstone Strider Plus 600W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (SST-ST60F-P) £71.99
1 x Silverstone SST-PP05-E Short Cable Set For SilverStone PSU Strider Series 100% Modular £16.99

Think the flat 8pin lead would fit better under my motherboard then the braided round leads..so will go for the silverstone and cables
Totally missed the edit you did lol
Would I benefit more air from Antec TriCool 80 then the cosair AF?
I'm not keen on the tiny fans and not sure how it would work around the H100i tubes..Is there a dust filter I could place there?
Thanks for the help

The BitFenix Spectre Pro 200's CFM (140-ish) is more than double the Corsair AF 140's (60-ish). You'd probably want to use the included 7v adapter, as it's a bit noisy on 12v. It's nice and quiet on 7v while still pushing plenty of air. I've used some in BitFenix Phenom builds and they are brilliant.

YOUR BASKET
2 x Akasa 80mm Black Aluminium Fan Filter [GRM80-AL01-BK] £2.99 (£5.98)
2 x Akasa Fan Filter - 80mm (GRM80-30) £2.39 (£4.78)
2 x Alumino Fan Filter 80mm - black £1.99 (£3.98)

Take your pick.

Fair enough, but should you upgrade to win8.1 the H100i+Link software have issues that can be overcome with some faffing about.

Hi mate, something had been on the back of my mind, even though Corsair fail to warn about it, and I checked some vids today - the 200mm fan doesn't look like it will fit along with a H100i (or any other 240mm rad). Hope you see this in time.

16:24 on this vid shows how little space is left between the 140mm fan and the H100i radiator:

well spotted Danny...totally forgot about that,
I've changed the basket
Just wish the k's would come out already...If they are coming out in September and not June Ill have to settle for a different CPU

Could anyone recommend a alternative motherboard that has none or a couple sockets at the top of the board for gaming?
As I talked to CS and they are not sure when the Gigabyte Z97N-Gaming 5 Intel Z97 be in stock. As I really want to get this set up when the Devil's Canyon come out

So after having to move back to England , I have almost finished this build,
Just buying a 4790k on the 23rd of this month,
So now i need help choosing what GPU & monitor to buy,
I would love to game at 1080p or 1440p
would also like the monitor not to be any smaller then 26"
would like to keep it within the black and red theme with gpu
The PSU I'm using at the moment was from my old build, Corsair CX750M
was thinking of buying the 970 or 980?
as for budget will have £300 next month for a 970 or would it be worth waiting another month for a 980?
would also like to spend no more then £300 for monitor (would also like to hang monitor on wall)
