As space is tight in my case and dont want to buy another one, i have seen you can get an 80 mm Radiator. Would this radiator be enough to keep a i7 3770k cool.

There would be no point. Instead of watercooling consider buying a new case :) And selling the old one :D

sorry newbie, why not overclock if the radiator is outside the case

Oh that wouldn't affect overclocking, my comment was in response to the original post asking if that rad would do for a 3770K not the last post about outside (and was based on the rad being smallish and therefore probably not best suited to overclocking on that CPU).

As said 80mm not worth it. You want at least a 240 rad, so a bit of a modding job. If you havent got the tools already better to buy a new case in my opinion. It's the litte not immediate things you dont spec/plan for that inevitably bring the cost of w/c up past the basic setup costs, worth keeping that in mind.

If you do go for it, i'd suggest something like the swiftech Drive pump-waterblock to save space. Good performer too. I use the Apogee XT of which the APogee Drive's base plate is based on.

First thought on seeing the case is stick a 240 on the bottom and attach legs to give clearance for outflow. It looks like it would be cramped. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?259438-Operation-Silent-Storm

80mm rad will not perform well for a 3770k at all imo. And you'll need a noisy fan.

It may be water but you still have a tiny rad to disperse that heat to the atmosphere..

Stock operation.. maybe, but there's no point watercooling to run at stock.

Lets not get carried away here, yes the 80mm rad only has a 80mm by 80mm filtration area however its a 3D object and is thicker than the average rad, judging form the stock image it appears to be the Hardware Labds GTX M80 which is 54mm thick, that's twice as thick as the Corsair H60 or the Antec Kuhler 620 and I doubt anybody would claim they are incapable of cooling a 3770K.

Fan noise would be the only restraining factor, how much can the OP take.

IMO I would personally be looking to mod the roof to take a 240mm rad as that would be reusable in a new case and on new builds, however the people saying that the 80mm rad wouldn't be up to the task are over exaggerating.

Not incapable but definitely not worth it. Your spending at least £100 (optimistic cost even on decent budget parts imo) for something that's noisier or as noisy and is going to be outdone by an air cooler at half (or less) of the price.
