Question is, will this 8600UTRA be able to beat my 7950GT? if so then the price would mean I can get VISTA Ultimate at the same time too!

Im assuming AMD has multiple times value than ATI or even Nvidia. Last couple of years AMD has made roads into the business market, who'd have thought 3 years ago that u could buy a Dell AMD?

It may be fun to call "DOOM!" but its in reality nonsence.

On these forums there are A LOT of fanboys to AMD/INTEL or more importantly ATI/NVIDIA. The key thing to remember here is that EASYRIDER is clearly not one of them making his post far more relevant ;) even if you are easily offended, he does not attack YOU, just uses his own way to compare GPU's.

interesting, so the ultra looks to be going head to head with the 1950pro. Wonder what performance will be like..

I think it will be faster than the 1950pro, that should happen, but probably not that much faster, also it has dx10 features and that is the main selling point! I cant see it for the price quoted being too much faster than the x1950pro in Dx9 if at all but the fact it has dx10 is the bonus

Its all market fiddling. ATI and Nvidia now have it set up so they aren't releasing enthusiast parts at the same time. They'll leapfrog each other by around 4-6mths, wait and see! That way, all the tech nutcases like us will buy cards from both companys, and we'll pay top dollar.

I know this sounds a bit conspiracy, but they're both already in court for dodgy competition, so don't dismiss this too quickly!!
