Thinking of changing from an existing FX8370 and MSI GTX1060 6gb had for 2 years

What i have in mind is an i5 8600k and
Evga GeForce GTX 1070 Ti SC Gaming Black Edition ACX 3.0 8GB,
am actual possibly going whole hog and getting completely new set up so looking at mobo Asus Prime Z370 P, cooler Noctua NH-U12S, 16gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz, Corsair RM650X PSU and Fractual Design C case.

I assume it would produce a pretty good improvement. Will still will be using with1080p but probably jump to 1440p later. I like system to run reasonably quiet when idle and under load so what do you think of the above options ?

What is your budget?
And no, i5 8600K at it's current prices at £280 is NOT good value.

All Intel cpu's are at rip off prices at the moment and I can't see anything changing for some time to come due to shortages and price gouging. The 8600k is currently £290 on here and even that is "reduced" from £309 so it's extremely poor value. For just £50 extra you can have a Ryzen 5 2600 6 core/12 thread cpu, Gigabyte X370 Gaming 3 motherboard, 8Gb Teamgroup 3000mhz DDR4 and a free 240Gb Teamgroup L5 Lite SSD. For an extra £79 you can double the memory to 16Gb.

I have a 8600k at the moment and I have to say it's been one of the best pound for pound chips I've ever owned if you can get it for 230/240 , I play at 1440p and stream 720p/1080p with that processor and it hasn't missed a beat.

If prices are 280 though I can't say it's a good deal and would look at AMD. Intel are really shooting themselves in the foot with this supply/pricing issue.

I've just dropped price of 8600K, its still not quite down to the £229-£239 they used to be but at £259-£269 we are the cheapest in the UK by miles and more importantly we do have stock on hand. :)
