Hi guys how are you?

I`m planning to buy a 8770k , today i have a 4770k running at 4.6

To use the 8770k at the 4.7 that is the max turbo boost all the time do i need to change anything? Or i just need to set the mult to 47 and do not touch anything else?

Thanks everyone

I thought the max turbo of 4.7ghz was on one core?.
You would need to change the turbo multi in BIOS and it may need a vcore bump

Correct 4.7Ghz is the one core boost. Mine would 4.7Ghz on all cores at stock volts (1.1v) but yours may vary.

Thanks guys i didn`t know that

So to get 4.7 atb all cores just set the mult to 47 right?

Do you think worth a change from my current 4770k @ 4.6 and 1080TI @ 2050 to a 8770k? I use for gaming 90% of the time

In my asus bios I set it to all cores\multicore. Then you can set windows power settings to performance.
I have mine on balance.

If you've had your Haswell from new. Upgrade. The gain may well be small in games now but the 8700k will keep you going strong for another 3 years. Enjoy.

not really. (waste of money if you ask me, unless there's a specific need for you to have a 6c12t processor)
see @HeX 's post for youtube comparison for gaming benches

eh? why?
maybe if op had lots of money and was drowning in it then yeah, upgrade. or if the upgrade itch was getting too much.
if there's no bottleneck currently, the better and smarter option is to wait until there's a need to upgrade in say, couple years time, where performance would certainly be better than a 8700k (and the op would see more bang-for-buck in the upgrade)

^ Agree with the above but....

I went from a i5 4690k to a Ryzen 1700 and now to a 8700k. The thing is, this is my hobby so I switch when funds allow (selling old kit to part pay for upgrades). To the Op, go for it if you can great chip. Even better if you find a way to cook ya breakfast on it - she be toasty.

save cash, unless you need to hit 5.1/2 ghz for CPU bound games - but you'd be paying a price.
wait till next year if you've got the urge. Coffeelake makes perfect sense for 1st and 2nd gen i Core- specially first gen!

Thanks guys, i think i can wait one more year, here in Brazil the price is really high, the 8700k costs something about 600$ just the CPU !!!! you have to include the MB, the memos......

You aren't going to miss out on much by waiting a year, your CPU is still more than capable in current games, and by then you'll have the proper Zen 2 Ryzen and new Intel CPU's to choose from.
