8800 GTS temp

I dunno, the reviews are reporting lower temps than with the 7 series, and I'm 46c idle here with the default nv cooler on my 7800GTX.

I'd say your 10c over "normal", that said you've got nothing to worry about as such, try overclocking it to see what happens, you'll know then if it is too high by how far it will go, most the reviews seem to be reporting similar overclocks and if yours is a fair bit lower then your temps could be causing it\might be a little high.

Your load temp is fine, if that is when a game is being played, and not 30 seconds after when you've just gone to control panel after exiting the game?

Idle is a bit high, but come to think of it, it could quite possibly be down to your airflow where the temp sensor is, might wanna try running with the side of the case off to see what it comes back as then

have you been reading any reviews?
In all the reviews i've seen these do run hot. guru3d even say they are commonly seeing 88c. His temp is fine, new cards can handle these temps so it isnt a problem!

Bought a BFG 8800GTS this afternoon and at idle i am getting temps of 44c and under load 60c (been playing FEAR - Extraction with everything on max since 4pm :) )

And using Nvidia driver 97.02

right now im idling at 57 and loading at about 76.

Ran BF2142 all last night with no problems whatso ever, and the fan stayed silent

Bear in mind when i had Crossfire set up , they topped out at 89 sometimes during a good gaming session

The threshold according to the program im using to monitor the temps is 110c
