8800 GTX artifacts

Hi!

I've had my 8800 GTX since February and have had no problems until yesterday. I was playing GTR2 and my pc would crash about just after the first lap then wouldnt boot at all with the nvidia drivers installed The funny thing is after the 4 crashes last night it worked fine until I turned my pc off

When there is no drivers installed i can boot but there is a lot of artifacts even on the blank screensaver, coloured dots appear.

I tried a 7300GT (slowww!) and everything works ok with that apart from the performance! I think my card has died

If I was to get a RMA am I best going with ATI X2900XT or getting another 8800GTX?

the 8800GTX is faster so I would stay with that. Just because this one is nackered doesn't mean another one will be.

Have to agree with the above, no point downgrading at all.

Its a shame the 9800gtx isn't out just now or I'd change to that

Your card has not died, it just looks like the ram is faulty on it so obviously gonna need to RMA it.
